Answered prayers!!

Despite the big relief of Michelle graduating from UCF in May, we still had the ever-present worry of passing the upcoming nursing exam (NCLEX) looming over our heads. The day of the test finally arrived on Wednesday - leaving her mentally (and emotionally) fried. After waiting anxiously for two days to find out the result - we were absolutely elated to find out yesterday that she passed! What an amazing answer to prayer. There is a great sense of relief in knowing that the long years of hard work in nursing school have paid off and that Michelle is officially a registered nurse. Thanks to all of you who have been praying for us!

In other news, things continue to move forward with our new house. The last details are falling into place now as we eagerly look forward to closing next Friday. We are now in the midst of trying to pack up everything we own while still trying to maintain some semblance of normal life since work and everything else continue as usual. At this point we are targeting the weekend of July 7th to be our final move-in date. We are hoping to have the wood floors refinished before we move in, so that is one factor that may yet affect our schedule. It's a definite relief to see everything coming together with this now.

One other thing to be praying for is Michelle's health. She had elevated liver enzyme levels a few months ago when she went in for annual physical. When she returned to have them retested a couple of weeks ago, the enzyme levels were still elevated. While this hasn't seemed to affect how she's been feeling, it has still been a source of concern for us. She had an ultra-sound last Tuesday and everything came back normal, which was definitely another answer to prayer. She'll be going back to the doctor on Monday to see what the next step is. We'll keep you posted as we learn more.

Our lives definitely seem to be packed with activity and excitement recently. We are enjoying the blessing of a lot of 'Firsts' recently. The first time in our married life where one of us has not been in school. The first full-time position Michelle has had. Buying our first house. Despite the chaos and stress the come with these significant events, we are definitely excited about where God has us and for all that still lies ahead.

We bought a House!!!!!

Woo Hoo! We've been house hunting for several months now, but because of school and waiting for me to have a full time job too, we knew we wouldn't be able to buy until this month. We went house hunting a few weeks ago and found two that we really liked, but they were both snatched up... or so we thought. We arranged to go out again with our realtor, Carol, and one of the ones we liked was back on the market. We looked at it first that day and every house we went to after that was not even coming close. We talked about it and put an offer that evening. They accepted a day and a half later and it's been a whirlwind ever since.

It's an older home (1962) 4 bedroom 2 bath with a 2 car carport, huge screened in porch, laundry room, tool room, shed, and a cute front porch. I'm posting pictures of it on our picasa photo album. There are a few things that we'll need to do: for instance, the teal carpet, though very soft and extremely clean doesn't match our decor, so we'll pull it up and expose the HARD WOOD FLOORS underneath!!! (can you believe they have them covered?!) We're also going to take out a small wall between the kitchen and dining room to open it up, and we'll have the kitchen remodeled as well.

At this point, we're scheduled to close on the 29th of this month, but it could be sooner. Timing could be a little tricky though since I have my state board exam (NCLEX) on the 20th. I've also started orientation, so I have my own patients now (scary) and we have to pack up our entire house (who knew we had so much stuff crammed in here) in the next three weeks on top of full time work schedules and studying. But we're loving the insanity of it all!!!
